Final year project

Hi Frnds, my work is an attempt to design a tracking unit, which uses the global positioning system to determine the precise location of an object, person or any other asset to which it is attached. Using GSM modem, this information can be transmitted to remote user. This system contains single-board embedded system that is equipped with GPS and GSM modems along with Micro Controller that is installed in the vehicle. During object motion, its location can be reported by SMS message. The use of GSM and GPS technologies allows the system to track object and provides the most up-to-date information about on-going trips by the owner. The current system will be able to provide monitoring process from anywhere. The purpose of this system is to design and integrate another new system which has GPS- GSM features in it to provide the following facilities:
a) Location information
b) Real time tracking vehicle using SMS
c) Communication is instantaneous and therefore we can receive running report quickly. It is completely integrated so that, once it is implemented in all vehicles, it is easy to track vehicles any time.
People, who have met with an accident and become unconscious, may not be in a position to inform ambulance or police or any relative. This system will automatically detect the accident and inform it to ambulance service and police service in the form of an SMS (current location) using GPS-GSM.
If a vehicle is missing, we cannot trace that vehicle. But with the help of this system, we can trace the vehicle and can Spot the missing vehicle which helps in reporting (current location as a SMS) it back to user using GPS-GSM.

Humanoid robot:

Hey guys I hope you all have watched “I robot”, well, this is my SUNNY :-D.This humanoid robot is a manually controlled tele robot which consists of solar cells and recharges its own battery by itself, it can transmit the video through wireless medium and it can walk. A metal detector is attached to its left hand and its right hand can lift the objects of geometric shapes. The robot consists of a temperature sensor and the current temperature is displayed through a 7 segment LED.

Conducting informal seminars on robotics

Hey ppl, I conducted classes for my juniors to share my thoughts and experiences. That helped them to devise autonomous robots and they also did lot of mini projects related to their academics based on the classes that I conducted.

ITRIX’13

ITRIX '13  Hospitality desk

Hey there, I was a core member of Itrix 2013, an international level technical symposium conducted by the department of Information Technology at College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University. I was the organizer and head of the hospitality team (standing in the next photograph). Nearly 2000 students from various colleges participated and made it a great success.

INTEL® workshop

Hi guys, this is the 3rd year of my college. There happened to be an embedded system workshop for faculty members. As I had great interest in embedded systems, my faculty Associate Professor Dr.K.Vani  took me there to participate in the two day activity based workshop on INTEL EMBEDDED INITIATIVE FACULTY TRAINING-CEG ANNA UNIVERSITY CHENNAI on 20th and 21st January 2012. This gave me a great exposure to embedded systems, and I learned how to interface GPS and GSM with micro controller.

Swingers Academy

Hi pals, this is the place where I learnt to dance. For over a year, I learnt Hip Hop, Jazz, Folk and few stunts. I never get to dance when I wanted in my past but during my 3rd year I got to learn dance.
College cultural programme:

This is my 3rd year and I got a chance to dance on stage

Image processing robots:

Arena

Hi Frnds, this robot is similar to the line tracer robot mentioned earlier. The programming is done using matlab. The output of the matlab is in the form of the following commands
    1-   Go straight.
    2- Turn right.
    3-Turn left.
    4- Go back.
The output is given via parallel port to the robot. When the robot receives the command, the micro controller responds accordingly. e.g. If it receives 1, it moves the robot forward. The robot (orange and pink circles) is placed in the arena. Using USB port the webcam and using parallel port the robot is connected to the computer. The programming is done in such a way that the web cam takes two images per second. With the help of the images taken by the web cam, the computer recognizes the position of the Robot and the robot starts moving from its initial point to the big red square and if it finds that the red color is present in one of the small boxes, the robot moves to the black square in front of the respective box. If it finds that a color is not present in the small boxes then the robot moves to its initial position.
The following are the robots I made based on image processing
